Plenty of memories at the Marlin, and it's been through some rough times, but personally I'm really excited to see what this new owner, Tony does with the this treasured watering hole that I love. I had the pleasure of a short conversation with this wonderful human being and you can tell he has plenty of hospitality experience and is invested. You always drink like a fish at the Marlin. I had one of the most incredible nights of live music and dancing in my life!

Very small and limited seating. Slow bartenders. Didn't feel comfortable at all. Stairway banister being held together by tape. Pretty sketchy.

It's open again!!! I played here on Friday, and they were open until 3 AM that night, with live music kicking off at 10 PM. This is the ultimate Alaskan dive bar, rich in community history. The place is filled with great energy and awesome live music. Although they don’t serve food, I have a feeling food trucks are nearby, and you can probably get something delivered. Yay! The Marlin is back in operation! It’s owned by the same people who run the Big I.
