The staff helped me in the beginning by giving me a map (which I took photos into my review). The museum is organized in eras and battles and some are as follows: Spring, WWII, Korean War, Southeast Asia War, Cold War, Missile Gallery, Space Gallery, Research and Development and Presidential Gallery. They are all divided and everything is clearly marked. The entrance is completely free and the entire museum is heated in summer and winter. There are several bathrooms distributed throughout the museum. If you were to go through and read everything in this museum, it would take you many days. If you do not look too much in details, it can be done in just a few hours. There is a lot on foot, but everything is wheelchair-friendly. The museum is very clean and it is a fascinating place to learn about the history of the United States. There are guided tours and there is also a gift shop that has many interesting articles.
A great museum. Unfortunately since the whole Kovid thing.... Slot of things has changed. Presidential planes that you used to go through you cannot now. Freight planes. Also. There's a lot to see. It's hard to see everything in just one day. But worth the trip.
I love this place. I'm an enthusiastic fan of planes and the air force, and since it's about 100 miles from my city, we usually go here for a day trip. I had high expectations for the largest air force museum, and it was fulfilled. I saw the plane JFK continued, and the first air weapon. Very good place, and also the entrance is free, except for the simulations and things they are 5 dollars per head.
Always a great place for hiking and learning. Each article reminds us of the many people who have gone to war in the creation and preservation of this nation. Military and national history can be told by the stories of these people
I've been going here since I was a kid. My grandparents brought me when I was 3 and I've always had a love of aviation. Literally the largest aircraft collection/museum in the world. I have memories of going here for birthdays, school trips, and just because. They have a nearby restoration area and take great care to cherish the exhibits. There is so much here to learn about and from. Also, there is a great gift shop with gifts and toys for all ages. There are events that they sometimes do with community organizations and guest speakers. There are motion simulators and a theater. Just all around an amazing place to go. It is so easy to spend an entire day here.
