Peking Chef - Fairfax Station

The management and the people who work there are so rude. they said the manager was too busy to talk to us when we asked. we've been coming here for years. I was just asking for hotter sauce and the dame gave me 2 hot bites for 7 of us, so I asked for more and they threw a whole fit over us after hotter sauce and then on me so much extra. They started yelling at me in the load and then yelled at my father on the phone. we've been coming for 10 years and don't come back.

Great food, ordered their Singapore Noodles (10/10 recommend). Speedy service, fair prices, overall good experience eating here!

I 'm going to give this restaurant 3 stars solely for keeping their prices low. It 's rare you find a menu that continues to offer pre-Covid prices. So, if you 're on a budget and don 't actually know what makes good Chinese food good, this is the place for you. I 'm not a fan of American Chinese food, preferring authenticity, and I 'm happy to pay extra for the authentic experience. But, just having arrived home from trip, I was happy to settle for quick take home. And, kudos to this place for their speedy preparation as well. And that 's the last of the Pros. The cons are what will keep me from ordering from here again. I was hopeful when I read their authentic Szechuan menu offerings, and they listed one of my favorite Szechuan dishes, the chili pepper fish fillets. The fish itself was fine, moist and not over cooked. But the preparation was a total let down. The dish was in fact fish fillets in sweet and sour sauce, of which I am not a fan. Stike one. We also ordered the shrimp with string beans. Not the worst and the shrimp were fresh enough, but the string beans were over cooked and limp, and the dish lacked flavor. Lastly, I was pretty hungry and wanting to give the place a real chance by ordering several familiar dishes, so we also ordered the Mongolian beef. It was lacking the signature smoky flavor, not enough green onions, and oddly, included button mushrooms. So, the flavor profile was not familiar. On the plus side, they didn 't cut back on the meat like so many Chinese restaurants have had to do in order to keep their prices competitive. So, while I won 't be ordering from this restaurant again, I think it accomplishes a solid 3 stars within their category.

The phone receptionist is very disrespectful and rude. The worst is there delivery drive who soon as he entered started yelling. The food is wasn't great either too grease and bland.

Coming in here for a quick stop is perfect. Fast service, kind staff, and good food for the price. Cashew shrimp is my go to, and I look forward to my next visit.
