It's been 7 years since I went vegan, and I regret not supporting my favorite ice cream shop more often. I used to stop by after hikes with my dog (who always got a kid's scoop), and now I can keep that tradition alive. Their peach sorbet and vegan cookies and cream blew me away this weekend. Dreams really do come true.
Friends from as far as Colorado make the trek to our small village of Fairfax just to visit Scoop. My best friend, who also happens to be vegan and lives in town, and I have a standing date to meet at Scoop for ice cream before exploring the hills. Scoop has a commitment to organic and natural ingredients, so you won't find artificial toppings like gummy bears here. They always have two vegan flavors available, usually a creamy coconut and a sorbet, which you can enjoy in a small scoop with both flavors. The small size is perfect for a single serving, and you can try both flavors without breaking the bank. I used to bring my own freezer pint container for them to fill up, but unfortunately, that's no longer an option due to Covid. The staff at Scoop are friendly and it's easy to get caught up in conversation with them. Despite its small size, the shop often has a line out the door, even in cold and rainy weather.
The ice cream at this restaurant is delicious with flavors that rotate based on seasonal ingredients. They also offer a vegan ice cream option and sorbet. Be prepared for long lines on busy days when the ice cream is especially good.
Friends to colorado come to our small village fairfax to make a visit in scoop. my best friend (which is also vegan and also lives in the city) and I have a regular standing date to meet at the scoop for an ice before I walked into the hills. scoop has an ethos (mind, I would prefer that this ethos contain quality for cows, but that is for another discussion) of organic and natural; they will never find gummy bears as a jump on scoop eis. there are always two vegan aromen on tap, in which a coconut creamy is inserted and a sorbet, and they can get a small shovel with both aromen. small is really all they need for a single portion, and they can enjoy both aromen for the price / size. I bring my own freezer pint container after scoop, and they like to fill it (at least that was the case before covid; that is probably a pleasure that I will not have anymore). point is, the people are really cool, and it's easy to intertwine with the interesting people who work there. it is a tiny business, and even in cold rain weather it is not unusual to see a line from the door and halfway around the block.
Good ice with aromen, which are changed for seasonal ingredients, and there is always a vegan ice option as well as natural as sorbet. the line can get very long on a good ice day!
