Hummingbird Cafe - Fairfax

These are the best grits I've ever tasted—no contest. They’re fantastic for dipping into their perfectly thick and hearty bacon. Absolutely delicious!

My experience ordering from Hummingbird was quite different from my visits to the restaurant in person. The items I received were significantly overpriced for the subpar quality and small portion sizes, which is disappointing given that I was once a big fan of this place. Between my friend and me, we spent over $60 for three small, cup-sized servings of gumbo. My friend's $20 shrimp po' boy had a surprisingly meager amount of shrimp—only nine in total—and the portion of fries was similarly small. To make matters worse, it took the restaurant over 45 minutes to prepare our orders, even though it wasn't during peak hours. Overall, it was a very unsatisfactory experience.

There were so many flavors! The spicy syrup was a bit too intense for me, but the overall seasoning was amazing. I will definitely visit again!

The po shrimp is absolutely delicious.  10 out of 10 I order at least twice a day from this restaurant. If you haven't tried it yet it is absolutely amazing everything they have is delicious and on point.

What a charming spot! The food was absolutely incredible! I had huevos rancheros and beignets, while my fiancé enjoyed scrambled eggs with veggies and tofu. Everything was delicious! We can't wait to return!
