Junction Bistro, Bakery - Fairfax

They were out of the trill fried rice, which was unfortunate as the trill sauce seemed to be a signature of the restaurant. The shaky beef was $27 and absolutely not worth it. While it tasted good, the portion size was small (no where near shareable size) and the majority of the plate was filled with lettuce filler to take up space. The gumbo was fine. The service was okay. While a nice person, our waiter was not particularly attentive and didn 't regularly check on us (the water glasses are small, we ran out of water quickly, and it was quite a while before she checked on us and brought us more. I was happy to support a new restaurant in the neighborhood, but I wouldn 't go back.

I know they recently opened, but the service was not acceptable. Especially given the prices. Ambience could also be better. Very loud because nothing is buffering the sound of everyone in the restaurant.

Really great food, really great service. We did a selection of apps for a table of 3 rather than full meals. Strongly recommend the Deviled Eggs my favorite). Large portions of soup and most apps. Environment felt more fast casual than formal, despite the traditional-service-type menu and pricing. Otherwise, no complaints. Comparable prices to other nice restaurants in Mosaic $12-16 apps, $9 glasses of wine, etc).

The delay in getting food was hard to get over considering we were one of two tables filled and we had to keep trying to get the attention of the wait staff or ask for things repeatedly was disappointing. The food itself did not make up for the experience.

Ok food, terrible service. Not recommended, would not come back. We came in late at 9pm so there was only one other table and a few people at the bar. Our waiter was terrible. He brought out our big entree platter and left and we didn 't have any plates or utensils to eat with. I asked for plates and utensils and he brought utensils and left. I had to flag him down again to ask for plates. Since the restaurant was almost empty, it 's not like he was busy waiting other tables, he was just joking around with the kitchen staff. He also forgot our drinks and appetizers and we had to ask for those after the entrees came. He was always making excuses or blaming someone else. Oh, they should have brought it out already! Umm, you 're our waiter, who else would have brought it out? I think that it was because we were a group of 6 so gratuity was automatically added and he just didn 't care. Absolutely horrendous service.
