Grand Hall Grand - Fairhope

Very disappointed. I may have liked it had I not been before. I found the buffet extremely scaled back. In the past, there were all kinds of pastry. I had my first and only cannnele there years ago. This time there were no pastries whatsoever . The cheeses, pates, and smoked meats used to be abundant . None of that other than some limited cheese choices and some smoked salmon but no bagels. The food we did have was good. The staff was very uninformed and knew little about anything other than their particular station. They seemed very young and very unmotivated. No let me find out Finally some elements of the dining room were nice; but, the way the buffet was presented and the room in which my party was seated, reminded me of a generic breakfast area you would find at a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express. It did not have the elegance I would expect from the Grand Hotel.

I am a really picky eater and hoped for a larger variety of foods. I am assuming that there have been changes made due to I will try again after things return to normal...

The Sunday Brunch at the Grand Hotel is always a special treat for my husband and me. Too many absolutely delicious choices! But, I never feel stuffed because the food is of such high quality

It had been a while since we did Brunch at the Grand. It was just fabulous. Very covid aware . Great distancing and gloves are provided at the buffet while you plate up. Service was on point , never wanted for a thing. Food was fresh snd delish. We will definitely put this back on our brunch rounds

The food was not filled enough - there were always several dried dishes of food. Ex-I actually went looking for 2x for eggs Benedict and both times drying out over half the portions and only 2 portions on it! Too much salad and not enough meat. The sauce was a bowl of red sauce next to a bowl of horseradish sauce. No spices. No green onions for jazz The piano and the music were very nice, but OMG-so dared loud I couldn't hear my mother talking on a 2 top The Moimosa were very good. - but you only had to pour 2 liquids. Server often brought them enough thanks. Yarn was also good, but only shrimps cooked. Not enough variety overall. I was very disappointed. I was ready to pay 50 for the ambience like a candle and quiet background music - not to shine with. All we did was food and visit between breaks. The banana promotion was also very good to be honest. But overall - much too much buffet was cheap salads and fruit slices. Not enough meat. Too loud music
