Cafe Retro - Falkirk

After reading several reviews, we decided to visit this restaurant. The breakfast we ordered was very affordable, freshly made, and quite filling. The service was also extremely pleasant. This place is a great local business.

I had just finished a workout in Denny one morning and needed something to eat before heading back to Glasgow. I decided to stop in Bonnybridge and grab a quick bite to eat at Cafe Retro in the town center. The cafe was small but busy on a Saturday morning. I ordered a breakfast roll and coffee, which were both freshly made and delicious. The prices were reasonable as well. I would definitely come back here if I'm in the area again.

Upon arrival, there were no friendly faces and the staff all appeared very unhappy. The food was of very low quality - the French toast resembled old leather, and the bacon was undercooked. Additionally, the food and the cafe were both cold. I will not be returning.

This is a great wee cafe in the centre of town, very quirky decor but friendly and inviting and the food was very good and served with a smile

We walked the circuit from Falkirk Wheel through the Rough Castle and back to Falkirk along the canal and were hungry at half way. We spotted Cafe Retro but were just looking for a sandwich or something. There is no cabinet food and that nearly put us off. But we went inside and were immediately welcomed and provided with a menu. There is a world of choices, much of it standard fare including burgers, sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, salads and main items. We both ordered a toasted sandwich and both were delicious plenty of filling and nicely toasted on brown bread. We had a choice of salad and coleslaw on the side. Our lunches were served really quickly and the service was friendly. The cafe decor is simple and yet a bit funky with posters of old stars including Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Elvis. And everything was incredibly well priced. Great.
