We enjoyed a delicious 4-course meal for £35 each, with generous portions that were very tasty. The restaurant was impeccably clean, and the staff were attentive. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Do not be deceived by the friendly chat of the owner at this restaurant. Despite promises of a great celebration, our experience was far from pleasant. The toilets were dirty and smelly, with a clear sewage problem. All the staff seemed young and inexperienced, while the owner himself was cheap and controlling. We were charged extra for decorating and cleaning services, which we ended up doing ourselves while he watched and criticized us. The owner even took away the opportunity for us to take photos of cutting the cake, instead instructing his staff to cut it up for the buffet. He refused to serve a pregnant guest a drink until our prepaid wine was finished, just to avoid refunding any corkage fees. The buffet was only available for a short time before being taken away, leaving guests hungry. The owner hounded us throughout the event, complaining about minor issues. The bedrooms were not worth the price, outdated and in need of renovation for the past 50 years.
This restaurant is in terrible condition, with a shabby and almost dilapidated appearance. The smell around the toilet area is unbearable, and there are calor gas heaters throughout the dining room that gave me a migraine. The dining room was freezing cold. In terms of the food, the soup was passable but the stuffed mushrooms were tasteless mush. The entrecote bordelaise was barely edible, as it was very badly cooked and overcooked to the point of tasting boiled. The sauce was flavorless, and the potatoes and vegetables were boiled to death and incredibly oversalted. The desserts were okay, but the slice of roast beef I tried was of TV dinner quality. Overall, this was one of the worst meals out I have ever had and I will never be returning to this restaurant.
What a little Gem of a place! Yes the room are pretty basic, but that doesn’t matter, they’re immaculately clean and warm, the breakfast was excellent but the star of our stay was the food, 4 courses for £32 of really well cooked and prepared food, the staff were amazing and the owners were lovely
First of all i am the person who would only write good reviews to give praise were praise was due and always read the reviews. Totally disappointed with my first trip to this restaurant, when the meals did arrive my daughter in laws katsu chicken was pink and had to be returned and a replacement was brought, same again chicken pink. My husband had the the steak pie and must admit i have never seen mashed potatoes quite like it, though my fish and chips was good, the sticky toffee pudding was cold but reading All the other reviews must have got the chef on a off day. Family are rangers fans and it is a shame that the first time experience at the restaurant has let it down resulting not a return in the future. Would like to say that the staff was lovely though shame about the meal.
