Helen's Bakery - Falkland

Located in the picturesque and historic village of Falkland, just opposite the Royal Palace and Gardens, this restaurant is one of two in the area that offers vegan cakes and pastries. We found ourselves returning here multiple times. The menu features vegan mince and potato pies, as well as vegan haggis and vegetable pies. Their selection of cakes includes chocolate, with different varieties available daily. Other nearby dining options include the Deli and Pillars of Hercules (located just outside of Falkland or accessible via the woodland trail).

We ordered a vegan haggis and tatties pie as well as a vegan haggis, tatties, and neeps pie, and both were delicious. We will definitely come back again.

After enjoying a lovely walk in the country estate just outside the village, I decided to dine at this restaurant. Falkland doesn't offer many vegan options, but this place is a hidden gem! I tried the mince and potato pie and it was even better than I remembered. The owner was delightful and mentioned that she recently opened the restaurant with plans to offer more vegan options in the future. Currently, she has a variety of treats like chocolate cake, flapjacks, and pies, and she is working on creating vegan sandwich and roll fillings. I will definitely be returning!
