The sangria was a bit sweet for my liking. We are South African the owner even spoke afrikaans to us. Highly recommended, don't let the unassuming frontage put you off
We had a great meal in O Alminhas last Sunday (5/2/23). I totally agree with all the positive reviews below, great food in an unpretentious establishment, think cafe style place, not a fancy restaurant. Happened to be passing the place earlier on in the day and liked the look of the menu and being open on a Sunday night when a lot of the other local places in Faro are closed was a bonus for us. We both chose the Fish soup for starters and Rice with Monkfish and Prawns for main course. Pudding Creme Caramel of the house. Homemade, tasty and delicious. Prices are extremely reasonable. Would definitely return.
Terrific local and unpretentious bistro style place. Great value, great food, great fun.
This restaurant is something else despite its appearance! The food was amazing and tasty. We ordered grilled sardines, grilled sea bass, tomato and onion salad, olives, and red wine sangria. The waiter/cook was very honest with their recommendations. This is probably the most authentic local restaurant I’ve been to in Portugal. Highly recommended! Don't judge it by its cover.
Lugar típico português, comida portuguesa e comida caseira. O ruim é que demora muito para servir a comida. Preço normal pelo custo-benefício.
