Sit down and order an appetizer to hold you over as with anything worth the wait, the food takes time. The chicken is sent out hot and it’s so good. Endless side dishes and great service allows you to enjoy your time with family. This is a cash only business so make sure you bring enough for a well deserved large tip!<br/
We went to Log Inn tonight with a party of about 20 people. We had made a reservation and got seated right away in the back party room. We had the room to ourselves which was nice (and unusual). We had two servers helping us and they brought out our drinks fairly quickly. Once we ordered the waiting game began... the chicken is fried to order and comes out piping hot but takes a while. My daughter and I split an order of cheese balls to hold us over (smart move). Other guests at the table followed our example. When the dinners arrived about 45 minutes later the chicken was piping hot. The dinners are served family style with sides of mashed potatoes and white gravy, corn, green beans, coleslaw and dinner rolls. (All you can eat on the sides). Everything was very good, though I think the green beans and corn were from a can. The waitresses were very efficient and kept our drinks full and the sides coming. After the meal we were given doggy bags for our left over chicken and rolls. This is the oldest restaurant in Indiana and does NOT accept credit cards, so bring cash. The gratuity was added on because of the size of our party. Enjoyable meal with family and friends tonight.
Best chicken I've ever had. The sides are just wonderful. My family has been going here for at least sixty years. We have always been too full to order desert.
Love this place! On Fridays they have great catfish, and it's so fun to go with a big group and get a home style meal. I don't like fried chicken usually, but I like it here. And the<br/ potatoes and home fries are delicious. Plus the pies! And it's so cool to eat in a place where Abe Lincoln once was.
Long long wait to get in.. We would go there more often but there is always too much of a line. Not worth it for us to wait that long ,
