Food is fine, nothing special. I will not crave going there, but, I am okay to go there if I have to
The place looks almost like an old style eating hall with the atmosphere and table set up. When we came there wasn't anyone there so we had the whole place to ourselves. They have dim lighting for the area. The bread was alright. It didn't seem to be fresh, but still soft in the inside with a crisp exterior, just been out a little too long. The butter came in the small containers and were still cold. The mixed grill was alright. They were nicely cooked and seasoned, but nothing that really jumped out. It is a good plate to have to just try a little of everything. In all honesty it just tasted like grilled meat, nothing too special. The tzatziki sauce was a bit runny as well. It is a huge shame that we weren't served naan instead of grilled tortillas or what's similar to them if I might be culturally ignorant about it. The pide was interesting. Flavor and texture wise it reminds me a bit of a cheesesteak. Very close flavor to something like a cheesesteak hot pocket. It was good nonetheless. The skin gave it the texture it needed. The rice pudding was rich and flavorful. It was creamy and just melts away in your mouth. It was unusually fragrant almost like rose water fragrant. All in all it was still pretty good. Now the best part of the meal was the knafeh. That dessert was heavenly! I would come back just for the dessert. A mix of spun sugar, cheese, and pistachio makes this a salivating dessert. The nice crisp texture of the sugar and gooey cheese dances around your mouth with an explosion of sweetness before melting away. Absolutely amazing combinations of sweet and slightly savory. All in all a pretty decent place to try and very reasonably priced. If not for the main meals then for the dessert. The main dishes we got would've gotten this place a 3/5, but it was really the dessert that pushed that 4/5. Hopefully they can improve on the main dishes and make them stand out to get that full house. Will certainly come back just for that knafeh.
We waited for the food about an hour and a half. And then when they finally started to serve, they served one plate every half an hour, we were 4 families setting at one table suppose to eat together. But the food was good. The reason why I am writing this review is that when we were leaving the manager was mad asked us why we only gave $11 tips!!!!!!!
