Verrazanos Italian - Federal Way

New Years Eve family dinner. Our family has a tradition of steak Lobster for NYE. In the past few years we’ve adopted a pescatarian diet, do now it’s just lobster. We searched and found great reviews for this restaurant and the menu shows they have lobster on their standard menu so it seemed to be a win-win. I received a call from the restaurant the morning of our reservation to let me know there would be a special limited menu for the holiday evening. Several items on the menu still fit our diet and they were still serving lobster, so all seemed well. Most ordered the pasta menu option, but I stuck with the lobster. We all had wine, we had the caprese appetizer, and most had salad to start. First off, the waiter was pleasant, fun, and just attentive enough without being annoying. The starters were good as was the wine. When the meals came out, I was surprised to see my lobster (what I thought would be a tail) was chunks of lobster cut up, mixed in an Alfredo sauce and served inside the tail. I was disappointed as I was looking forward to traditional lobster, but it was ok. All said the food was a bit under seasoned, but we did notice most of the clientele was elderly and that could be why. We did order desert to go. The cannoli filling was just about the best I’ve ever had. We will try it a second tube with the regular menu to see how we feel for sure. We would also like to see the view in the daylight.

The view is stunning. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is top-notch.

I hope the management takes note of this review. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is decent but not outstanding. We received friendly service, however, the waitress appeared unkempt. We arrived 30 minutes after opening and noticed her shirt, pants, and apron were very dirty, indicating she had come to work in unclean attire. This was not very appealing.

We stumbled upon this gem in the area and we definitely plan on returning.

We just started a new tradition... to go to this restaurant every Christmas Eve Everything was perfect. Food. Service. Atmosphere. Everything. We will be back more often than once a year!! Thank you!
