Another gluten-free haven, booking for indulgent full afternoon tea, with best ever sponge cake, along with a solid collection of teas and beverages. Well worth finding, a little ‘out of the way’ with parking at back, and on street parking out front. Delivery from local butcher’s van outside yet another sign that local know how and fresh produce combine to deliver an experience worth your travel
I visited the tea room for the first time today and it was a disaster. We ordered three drinks and eventually received them, but never got the three sandwiches we ordered. After waiting 40 minutes just for the sandwiches, a couple who arrived 10 minutes after us got their cooked meal before us. We were informed that they had lost our order. The lack of customer service was disappointing, as they should have at least offered us a free drink as an apology. It seems like they prioritize takeout orders over dine-in customers.
I often go for Sunday lunch and a pot of Earl Grey tea at this restaurant. The service is always friendly and relaxed. It's a 20-mile round trip for me, but definitely worth it. I also enjoy their delicious bacon roll for breakfast.
Called in after being told about this little place and how good the foods were and believe me we were not disappointed. A quirky little place still in progress of this adorable family business. Sunday Lunches you should not miss, Breakfasts hot and came exactly as I asked it.. Great menu with vast choices it will take some of you back to childhood with wonderful desserts, Steamed Spotted dick, Jam roly poly, Apple pie, etc and all home made as are the Cakes from the fair hands of the Manageress. Do a left turn down Darthill Road just after the old Cinema on your left, then at end of road turn left onto Robingoodfellows lane and it is 20yrds, if that.. on left.. Metal Gates with Tea pots on.. Not a massive Car park, yet can always find a place nearby. The seating outside the tea room is still in progress as is the area, but if a nice day could still sit in the fresh air with your Dog/s. This little place is a gem a must visit.. Not 100% about disabled wheelchairs getting in or able to comment the toilet facilities as didn't go in that area..
