Madame Nhu has more or less one of the best locations in CBD, but the fierce and flashy competition in the complex shouldn't deter you from the good stuff. Sure, it's cash only, and that's a huge drag and almost unforgivable these days, but the folks are friendly and the service immediate. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Three decent sized rolls for $8.90 that's a deal, and a relatively filling lunch. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? These rolls have everything I need in a good roll: generously portioned and flavorful cuts of meat, lettuce, and fluffy rice in sticky rice paper. The flavor is there, the crunch is there, and that's really all you need to be honest. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Great stuff, but a slightly limited roll selection and a cash only payment protocol mean it falls just short of perfection in my book. No Star Granted.
Always excited to find a new place to have pho. The menu is pretty extensive, they have chicken, veggie and prawn pho as well as the traditional beef. They also have tofu/veggie dishes. Came here for lunch, my coworker and I shared the honey tofu rice paper roll. I was feeling a bit sick so I got the spicy chicken pho and my friend got the spicy veggie pho. The rice paper roll was really fresh and delicious, but a bit pricey 3 for $8.50. The spicy part of the pho was basically a ton of siracha on top of the soup. A bit too spicy for my taste but still tasty. Would definitely come back, want to try the vermicelli salad and salt and pepper tofu.
Clean aromatic sweet pho. I know its not traditional but I love seafood pho. This place does an amazing prawn pho that doesn't have any cockles but somehow manages to warm mine. Its just beautiful. I've had the more traditional Pho Ga and the Beef Pho of course and they are fantastic, but the flavour of the prawn pho is so delicate and downright superb. The prawns are perfectly cooked and there is enough sweetness in the broth that hoisin isn't really needed. Add a few chilies and tear up some basil leaves for an aniseedy sweet flavoursome pho.
Female only dinning most nights. Great for hens parties or lesbian conventions. Do not ask servers to add a serving to their entrees IG you are dinning in even numbers. You will get in trouble. Do not ask for cocktails if it's not Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Again, if you do so, you will get in trouble. Expect to pay a surcharge if you pay with a card. It won't be mentioned until you try to pay. If you look like you are disappointed by this information, the staff will be rude to you... And you'll get in Trouble. Bring earplugs. Brad Andrew 2015
Closed mid day Very rude employees . Wouldn't give them buisness with such attitudes
