Beef tongue was chewy but not overcooked. The sashimi is generously cut and fatty. <br/ Despite the delicious grilled dishes, without the grilled beef rice, we probably wouldnt have been full. <br/ <br/ Staff was prompt but the wait time in between food was a bit long.
Yea it’s always about craving a certain kind of cuisine and it’s Japanese this time. Let’s get down to business and talk about food. <br/ <br/ Sashimi platter was colourful and nicely plated. Salmon, tuna and king fish were pretty average and could have been fattier. Scallop was fresh and juicy, which easily made it the best item. I like tamagotaki (pan fried rolled egg) but feel that it should be served separately as can’t categorised as seafood, at least to me.<br/ <br/ You don’t see grilled crab legs a lot so I was pretty excited about it. The crab meat was sweet and fresh but probably some sauce could be added to moisten the flesh and lift up the flavours even more.<br/ <br/ Assorted tempura with prawns, mushroom, pumpkin and sweet potato is a Japanese cuisine staple but very few restaurants do it well. Crispy and light batter dipped in slightly sweet and savoury sauce makes it a dish to remember. <br/ <br/ Wagyu beef sukiyaki hotpot<br/ What’s better than having hotpot in winter? Wagyu beef, veggies, tofy and sweet savoury broth simply won my heart with the heart warming flavours and meat-veggie balance.<br/ <br/ Diced wagyu beef on skillet was definitely our favourite. You can’t go wrong with tender and juicy beef drenched in garlicky sauce, and by garlicky I meant so garlicky you don’t even want to kiss your partner after having this.
This place contains all your classic Japanese fare such as sashimi, sushi, sukiyaki and yakitori and they were done really well, with fresh ingredients and nice flavours. What makes it different from other Japanese restaurants is their modern dishes, such as the grilled Alaska crab leg with smoky flavours combined with the natural sweetness of the crab, and the use of robata to cook their skewers giving them a more robust smoky flavour. Worth a visit.
Despite distance, this restaurant worths us a try.<br/ <br/ I love the beef here! The one with fried garlic and the chunk portion barbecue are my best two!<br/ <br/ Sashimis are fine but I prefer kimchi and seaweeds.(what’s wrong with me lol <br/ <br/ Love the assorted drinks <br/ <br/ Good environment and good service. Nice!
I’ve been there twice now. Really like it. The portions are pretty generous. There are some very attractive promotions running atm too. Next time, I’m going to try the curry and ramen!
