I remember going here quite frequently when i was in university, and Friday nights here use to go off! <br/ <br/ We got the cheese platter from a Groupon deal, although it's not the most aesthetic platter- you get more than what you pay for, an array of cheeses and sides. <br/ <br/ The downside i'd say, is the construction and road work happening outside of the place. <br/ Also it does have a tendency to get rowdy during happy hour.
Well this place has cheap beer which is called tiger you have happy hours on this always and after 9 the kitchen is almost closed so one can bring their food from other nearby places and eat here . It's a old bar since 1877 so the round heavy tables makes you feel like a vintage person ....stay raw !!!<br/
Our work team frequents this place often (every Friday) for their Steak and Chips. It is one of their lunch special at $12 per dish. I had mine Medium with salad and it was good! I can understand why they go every week! Apparently the Fish and chips is good too and comes with a side salad.
I’ve only just recovered from trying the Palace Hotel Ghost Chilli Chicken Wing Challenge in Sydney. I spent the night of the challenge in special amounts of pain on the couch, willing my stomach to stop trying to eat itself and most of yesterday wishing my stomach had been successful so other regions didn’t have to deal with it :
The Palace Hotel covers all the bases. Located on the corner of George and Hay Street in Haymarket, it places you in the middle of a business and entertainment district for a great modern pub dinner in a refurbished 1887 building.
