Siam Corner is a popular Thai restaurant in Sydney's north weat. The interior is covered in wood to give it the feeling of Thailand. It has the perfect mood lighting; dim enough to be intimate but bright enough to enjoy the visuals of each dish.<br/ <br/ We ordered the Pad See Eew with chicken, the Curry Softshell Crab, the Green Curry with Beef (recommended by the waitress) and the Crispy Pork with vegetables. All dishes were full of flavours but a little light on the spice. The crispy pork was deliciously crispy. The pad see eew was sweet and tender. The softshell crab came with the spice kick, crispy and not oily. The green curry would have been great with chicken as the beef just didn't soak up the flavours as well as chicken would have.<br/ <br/ For dessert we had banana sticky rice, sticky date pudding and chocolate lava cake. All the desserts are cooked in house and are sodelicious we were tempted to lick the plates clean!<br/ <br/ Overall the food was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was quiet on a Monday night and the food came out piping hot and quick!<br/ <br/ Its the little things that make this place nice. Like the wedge of lemon on your cola and the real candles on the tables. Well worth the visit!
Best Thai food I have had, and eat there often. Always attentive service, lovely ambiance where the lights a dimly light (or solely by candlelight while smooth music plays in the background. The food is 10/10 which is why I frequent this restaurant so often. <br/ <br/ The Pad See Ew is incredible and is always a must when I go, the black pepper wagyu beef is a winner and you can 't beat the pork belly with green beans. Some other yummy dishes are the chicken cashew nut (the chicken is crispy and crunchy! , the crying tiger and the salt and pepper squid is beautiful !! <br/ <br/ It is very fun when it is your birthday, a loud version of 'happy birthday to you ' plays with a hip hop spin and it makes the atmosphere very fun and playful. <br/ <br/ Overall a wonderful experience (as always! .
Restaurant and decor looks really nice and is a big open plan with plenty of seating.<br/ <br/ Waitress was quite good, she took our order of 3 people without writing it down and didn't get anything wrong which is a plus.<br/ <br/ Presentation of food was nice, however flavoring was a bit overpowering, especially with the Pad Thai. <br/ <br/ The salt and pepper squid for entree was well presented and would get it again. However, had the BBQ chicken as a main, they used chicken thigh for this, I understand this part of the chicken has more flavor, however I feel it would of been better with chicken breast.<br/ <br/ Crispy pork belly was also well presented and had great flavor, however, was small quantity in this dish. <br/ <br/ Overall, I would visit again and was a pleasant experience, however, needs to pick up their game to be a front runner for Thai food in the hills.
The first time I visited Siam Corner I found that my pad see ew lacked a little bit of flavour and some noodles were burnt. I enjoy lots of sauce with my noodles and it didn't really live up to my standards, however the second time I came it was great. I did order the same thing and had no issue. Rich in flavour, cooked well and not burnt at all. The ambience and lighting here is great also. Not bright but also not too dim. Service is also great.
