Château de Fère - Fère-en-Tardenois

We spent a pleasant time at the castle of fère but there is one but ! it has been necessary to insist on the server to have our aperitif outside and not even a small amuse-bouche ! then we went back to the restaurant room with very austere and dark decoration, moches luminaires. if we can bring some suggestions: small candles on tables, mood music (classical or jazz), less stifling curtains. It's not much and it could bring a more pleasant atmosphere. The service was slow but slow!!! at the same time the poor servers were only 4 for two full rooms. between our arrival and the dish we waited 2 hours! The meal was good but no more. The risotto and the cod were too salty. Anyway we are not sure to come back! damage

What's going on with the French kitchen? Serving was fine and kind. The red line during the dishes was short of body, to specerin. Nice presentation, but very little taste. The calf-suckers were fine. I think this is a different cook than in 2015.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing hostronomic experience in this beautifully-situed restaurant. Four years ago, in this restaurant, eating great food, which is why I went back with two friends to experience this again. Here I regret given the mediocrity level of food and the round-out bad service of service staff and management. At the arrival of the terrace, the desinterest and distantness of the service staff was clearly remarkable. After recording our aperitificity, the waiter came back with the drinks again forgot who ordered what. Then the menu was stripped of cards without authorization and planted the wine card. Because afterwards, we stopped seeing staff on the terrace, we waited for half an hour of the menu cards to walk into the restaurant ourselves. In recording the dishes, the desinterest was resentable to my company. During the dish, a moderate ravioli with good calf filling, one of my friends discovered a piece of plastic in his court. Now this can happen, even though it's rarely given the expected standard of the restaurant, only you'd expect a proper response from the staff. When I informed the maître was nonchalantly responded and not apologized. When the main dishes were initiated, without admission of the court, I asked the maitre if she had already informed the kitchen about the piece of plastic in the submission. Turns out this wasn't the case I was questioning at the hotel's service manager. She promised to contact me. The next day, since I slept in the near-hearted hotel. This contact never happened. The main dish was average and dessert, an apple dish with matcha tea, missing from finesse. During dinner, We'll be with ourselves with the wine and the water. The five servant staff in space with six tables in here had no eye for this. The next day, I checked with two different local wine farmers about the quality of the restaurant. They indicated that the restaurant has a great deal of trouble delivering a constant quality and it involves the quality of a sliding negative scale. I'm sorry to say this myself personally, given the experience of the past. The desinterest of the staff and especially the management's management management gives me very little confidence that one can change the course in short terms. It's a shame given the unique location. Well, given the high-end prices, I'm not recommending this restaurant either.

Having booked the castle to spend a weekend in love, we also enjoyed it for dinner at the restaurant of the castle.Very good dishes from beginning to end.Beautiful wine menu, champagnes.Personals very efficient and pleasant. A good time with a view of the countryside. I recommend it!
