Zens Steak And Seafood - Fergus Falls

The food was better than average, but the service was only so-so. I did like that, compared to their opening months, the lighting was dimmed somewhat. The steaks were good, and done to request properly. The loaded mashed potatoes were average. Our drinks weren't exactly what we ordered, and, when a dish was found to be unavailable, no substitute was even offered beyond a shrug. One of the fancier places in the area to eat, but at roughly $70 per person, maybe not quite fancy enough for the town they are in.

We had Valentine's Day dinner at Zens because we have enjoyed their catering immensely in the past. We had the steak and seafood special for two, which included tenderloins, a lobster tail, shrimp, bacon-wrapped scallops, a side, salad or soup and a pop over. Our food was flawless. Every item was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Food was served piping hot or perfectly chilled as expected. The staff and service were wonderful, and the atmosphere is a nice blend of upscale with a small community feel. I set my quality bar for food in Ottertail County off of Spanky's, and this food was better for a total price of $30-50 less than what we would have spent for the same meal at Spankys. Bravo, Zens! We will be back!

First off when we enter the restaurant it is quite dark and the lights are quite dim. It's quite hard to see or have a good view of things. Second the food, I don't even know where to start. All the food was bland even with seasoning, the food was either overcooked or not fully cooked, and finally small portion for such price. Service is alright, but we must wait for so long and I mean like half an hour. In general if your looking for a place for a date or for a family eat out I don't really recommend this place, unless you want to spend lots for little.

Steak was the best I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant! We had appetizers which were awesome, desserts that were delicious! We definitely will be back! Thank you!
