The Surf Restaurant Bar

After a somewhat disappointing visit with friends for appetizers on the deck a few months ago $12 glass of wine, so so appetizers) my friend and I enjoyed an excellent lunch recently. My friend had the fried shrimp with fries, and I had the salad with grilled grouper. Both were excellent and I look forward to my next visit to The Surf.

Would not recommend. Music was so loud, couldn't hear each other or the waitress. Mediocre service with barely mediocre food. I don't see what the hype is.

We didn't actually eat here, because the menu had changed and we weren't aware. The Waitress was extremely nice, we tipped her $10 for the hassleFood drinks: Surf Punch is delicious!

TLDR: Great atmosphere, Good Food, Dog Friendly! Repeat customer!The surf has a great outdoor seating area that is dog friendly and very spacious. Big plus that it is dog friendly.The servers do provide water bowls (with water) for your canine friends. Service overall is good for how busy it can get.I have eaten here a few times so I will try to do a fair review of all the food I have had here so far.Blackened Shrimp Basket: 4.5/5 Well seasoned cajun style, came with 9 shrimp and a decent portion of waffle fries.Brunswick Just tasted very bland.Fish and Simple, Large portion using beer battered cod. Very good. Pretty good, but the very large portion makes up for any deficiencies. Definitely share this with someone.Spiced Pimento Cheese If you like pimento cheese, this is for you.Fresh Catch Fresh fish with great seasoning and simple toppings that do not overpower the fish.

Place was basically vacant and learned why. Wings seemed old and dry but swimming in sauce that was poured over them. Fries were solid though. Drinks were overly sweet. Waitress seemed like we were bugging her. Music was way stupid loud especially with maybe a total of 8-10 people on the entire deck which is enormous. No desire to try again after that experience.
