I am especially looking forward to finally tasting her food. the room, while was nice, felt something dated, but it was cozy and still had a nice local mood. the workers in the restaurant were polite and attentive about the largest part of the evening. eating itself was ok, nothing was unforgettable or breaking it was just ok. the first cure was aal, which was probably our favourite course, it was fresh and really clean tasting. we then went to the seabrat, which was again beautiful, but nothing special really or the screamed michelin star. the hay baked wobble with ochsenkiefer was next, I personally left most of my. I found the taste too strong and don't enjoy the taste at all, but my partner has its taste. we had some wonderful venison in other restaurants before and this cure of peat inn only did not hit the mark in comparison to others and was definitiv one of the weaker courses. the lemongrasparfait was the next and was good. we had a long waiting period; 45 minutes where nothing has arrived and we could see the tables to make them through the courses. none of the servants seemed to get in, and we finally started a waitress who said, "It must be on the way." later a male server apologised and said our recently ordered cocktail would be in the house as an apology. a nice gesture, but given the waiting period was 45 minutes and they had not picked up maybe expected a little more. the chocolate soufflé was the last cure and while both were huge and turned out to be too much! while there is a good number of curses aal followed by sea stream then ochse wange followed by brain made every few of curses seem a bit too equal. I think a somewhat greater variety in the way they could have helped flew. overall, while we had a nice enough time away and evening I do not think I would be in a hurry to go back or would recommend necessary for a special dinner. there are other restaurants, both michelin and not michelin I would unfortunately decide and recommend about the peat inn.
Very friendly service. all employees are very knowledgeable about what they serve and extremely attentive. eating was great as they would expect. especially I enjoyed the supposedly trout, really amazing. I highly recommend it.
An evening here, including dinner and had an excellent time. very friendly helpful staff. the rooms are fantastic with bedroom / bathroom in the ground floor and living area in the upper floor. beautiful small bottle fizz and chocolate waiting at our arrival. when it was a nice day, sat. in the garden and had a drink. Dinner was excellent, we choose from the a la carte, only 2 options offered for each course, but delicious food. they will provide morning a continental breakfast to their room with many options. they will release this place, they will not be disappointed.
We have been in this restaurant for a few years and were always impressed on every visit. this was the first time we made dinner here and we went for the tasting menu, which was absolutely excellent with fantastic service during the meal. in a very relaxed atmosphere. we had booked a room, so we had to get no taxi at the end of our excellent dinner and were able to enjoy wine at our meal. we will definitely go back to peat inn as it is certainly one of the best restaurants in Scotland. we do not believe, however, that we would stay overnight, because although the room was very nice, that we did not have the breakfast especially when you looked at the price for a night. I still recommend the restaurant unrestricted and it is a worth money for the stunning culinary experience.
We have loved previous visits to the Peat Inn and were excited to be returning with friends for a night away after a planned trip didn't go ahead in 2020. Started with some confusion about the time of our table booking, then in our room...we found mould in the bathroom, while upstairs the wallpaper was ripped and some furniture was marked and has seen better days. Not really 5*, and with prices 25% higher than in 2020 yet fewer extras such as the wee sherry that used to be provided we felt it was very expensive for what it was. In the restaurant staff were very friendly and food allergies handled extremely well as usual. We went with the tasting menu, except unlike previous visits we did not get a printed list of all the courses to keep on the table, which meant we were never quite sure what was coming next. Seems a small problem except that one of us was in the bathroom when the souffles arrived which was a shame, and as we had chosen not to have the paired wines our own drink selections were not well timed for the food as it came. The food itself was nice, and if we return to the restaurant I would take a picture of the menu as we order. I don't think we'll be returning for a night away though, unfortunately the B&B is no longer special enough to warrant the high price.
