As part of my surprises for my 60 th birthday, my family booked High Tea at The Tipsy Nipper. If you don't already know, this is set beside the local Airstrip in Glenrothes. The gardens were absolutely wonderful with Christmas lights such infused Reindeer, Santa,a train and much more.I was a pity that the rain was hammering down so we could go outside for some fotos.v Who knows, maybe next year. When we arrived, the other fifteen folks were all seated, I felt like Royalty as I walked in and in arm with hubby. The dining room is bright, tidy and very welcming and Staff allowed us time to get seated and take in the surprise of everybody being out together. Even with such a large party of folks we had plenty wiggle room at the table. Drinks order was taken and the waitress asked if we were ready to start our tea. Our daughter had prebooked the Menu ahead but I'm not sure if this is usual of only if it's a bigger number attending. We were offered a high chair for the see but who's not yet two which was appreciated. Firstly there is warm toast in toast racks) with butter, honey ,name an marmalade served. The waitress topped up the toast as required till everybody had enough. Since the kitchen had our order there was not long to eat for our meals. Steak Pie was popular, served with Seasonal Veg and a decent portion of light fluffy Puff Pastry, Chicken Maryland was another popular choice, Gannon Steak also looked very appetizing. I had Smoked Haddock Fish Cakes , delicious. The children's portions were good, the wee fella had fish fingers chips and peas and insisted on eating the peas one at a time. If nothing else it allowed his Mum and Dad peace to enjoy their meal. High praise from everybody for the meal so far. We had a wee break for a brother and the grand opening of my birthday gifts. Once we were all settled again the staff came with lots of tea and coffe. Then came the home made scones and cakes. There was more than enough to go round all 17 of us. Again butter, name rtf were available for the scones. During this a gentleman appeared with a lovely birthday cake and encouraged everyone to join him in singing Happy Birthday. What a lovely evening we had. Smashing venue, great food and all my family around me. What more could you ask for on your 60 th Birthday Thank you all
