So when explained to the waitress that I an coeliac, she immediately understood and showed me the menu items that are gluten free. I 100% recommend this restaurant/bar for a very welcoming experience.
We stumbled upon this gem on our way back from the Dali museum. The Tertulia II has outside seating as well as inside. Depending on the weather and the busyness of the traffic on its way to and from the railway station down the block, you may prefer one choice over the other. Service was attentive, friendly and timely. The food was fresh and well prepared. We chose from the daily menu, like the locals do: gazpacho for first plate, grilled hake for seconds for me, and meatballs in sauce for my husband. It was very affordable, and as simple as it sounds, it was obvious that whomever prepared the food knew what they were doing: the fish was flaky yet moist, the meatballs juicy and full of flavor. We skipped dessert and coffee because we were in a hurry to get the train back to Barcelona, but I eyeballed a homemade flan on its way to a different table, and it looked lovely. Perfect to escape the touristy places in town, get some good honest food, and enjoy the goodness of life. Keep an eye on this place 's Facebook announcements as well they regularly offer traditional South American specialties as well. Might not be traditional Spanish food, but it is prepared by those in the know, and who can say no to that?
