Carmen Tacos - Finleyville

I recently tried the taco combo plate at this restaurant and it was the best I've ever had. The wait staff was very helpful and gave me some suggestions while I was deciding what to order. The restaurant is currently working on improving its appearance and signage. I had a chance to speak with the owner while he was grilling brisket, and he was a nice and friendly person. I gave it one star for the margarita which was exceptional. The tacos were bland...slightly flavored meat with a few strands of cabbage. Sauces were bland and came out of their container in a lump. The quesadilla I ordered was with 'no sauce ' however there was a spread of sour cream or something. Hint: nachos should have something on them. Our two orders amounted to a box of plain chips with a container of salsa. This should be described as chips and salsa not nachos. We try and support local businesses but this was disgraceful.

Finally got a chance to try Carmen Tacos. My wife and I both rated the food a 10 out of 10. Service was fantastic and the fish tacos were even better. The fish tacos reminded us of the tacos we had in Cancun. We will absolutely be back.

This restaurant serves the most authentic tacos I have had in the United States! My favorites are the Mayan pork and Chicken tinga with green sauce and chipotle crema. The corn tortillas are delicious and freshly made. I also love the homemade tortilla chips and queso. I give this place all the stars! The staff is fun and welcoming. We visited on Taco Trivia Tuesday and everyone was friendly.
