Cafe Del Sol - Flensburg

We had pasta and schnitzel with wine; it was delicious. Waitress was very efficient and always smiling. Prices are very reasonable. If you are in the area, this place is definitely worth a shot.

I've seen this restaurant a couple of times while i've been driving by, and finally i decided to try it out. It's a very nice and warmth atmosphere, however that is probably the only nice thing to say about the place. Parking was a mystery but apparently you need to park at the shopping center.As i entered the restaurant it was very clear that the first room was filled with very loud music and i decided to move to the second room. As i sat down at one of the table i was quickly disturbed that i couldn't sit at the table as it was ment for outside even though it was placed inside with menucards like every other table. The chairs was a mix of outdoor and indoor chairs which caused even more confusion.The staff who informed wasn't the best at english and we misunderstood each other as i decided to sit down anyway which i thought was okay. Quickly the owner interfered and told me it was an outside table. I thought he said it for my own sake as it would be dirty or needed a wipe off.But fair enough this exact table is ment for outside but after a long 36 hours workday it annoyed me very much and i told the owner/manager i did not care if it was an outside or indoor table as i just wanted to sit. The owner/manager insisted and aggressively pursued me to move to another table.After waiting approximately 45 minutes for my Texas burger it finally arrived.Let me start by saying that the fries were decent, however the burger was the worst i've experienced in Flensburg/Europe to this date. I found a single slice of lettuce and tomato in my burger to go along with a bun that looked like something from the supermarket. The "ground beef" was not what you would expect, it's some weird mixture of beef that has less flavour, stiffer/overcooked texture and was cooked dry.I ate the fries and went to Burger King next door to fill the rest of my hunger, which could atleast serve a decent burger.This place has potential but it needs a change.

Good for lunch, but not very good for dinner. We had a great lunch on the terrace, a great experience. The food came quickly, tasted very good and was served with a smile. Later we had a not so good dinner experience, slow service, main courses served at different times and the worst steak I have ever eaten. No response from the waiter when this was pointed out, just a shrug of shoulders..... American style menu.

We visit Flensburg, Northern Germany, (abt 3 miles from the Danish/German border) several times a year for shopping. One of the major shopping centres are Forde Park located in Flensburg SW right beside the motorway 200. And just 5 mins of the A7 north-south corridor exit 4. In the shopping plaza there is lots of shops but very few good restaurants. But.. just outside in the parking area you see a house situated uphill on a crest with a sky view. Excellent for lunch and superb for late evening snack or dinner. We have had dinner on the terrace enjoying the sunset or inside during the winter, and both times found the place, service and the food to be very good. Inside you feel as if you are in an California / American cafe, modern, and high ceilings, lots of locals, and a nice atmosphere. Can recommend to go there 1 hour before sunset on a wam day after shopping before heading north, or before going to your hotel for the night. If you experience a sunny sunset on a hot day on the terrace, you will certainly be back, because among the large parasols(large shades) there is still lots of air and it will cool you down. The place is moderately priced, not super cheap and not expensive either, Good place for couples, retired folks, and families who wish to relax. Lots of parking also for campers. We will be back next time we are in the area.

This place offers a large variety of food from curries, to burgers, ribs, pizzas and pasta. However the ribs were fairly dry and the salad was ok. Its an ok place to eat but the food is nothing special. The service is fairly Quick and...the waiters were friendly
