Olli's Weinlounge - Flensburg

Wir hatten das Wiener Schnitzel mit Spargeln. Es war zwar lecker, aber als abslolute Mini-Portion serviert und das zu einem doch stolzen Preis. Wenn man also wirklich etwas in den Magen bekommen möchte, ist dies nicht das richtige Lokal.

On a recent trip to Germany I visited with family in Heide, Holstein. We went for a day trip to Flensburg and read about Olli's Weinlounge in the local newspaper. Unfortunately we arrived in the middle of the afternoon, after lunch and before dinner. Both menu's looked delicious and my cousins will certainly be back for either one. We opted for afternoon snacks, a good cup of coffee and fresh tea. We ordered Flammkuchen, Brownies and the cake du jour - all freshly made and very tasty. Olli and his team do understand great hospitality and you can feel that it is coming from the heart. The restaurant is very modern in it's interior with bright red walls and modern furniture.The retail area is well stocked and I was glad to see some high-end Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and couple of my favorite Austrian wine makers. I brought home one of Olli's very own special Brandy or as they call it in German "Weinbrand", made right there in Flensburg. A wonderful digestif!

Im vorbeigehen hat mich der Flammkuchen angelacht. Nach einer Runde durch die Stadt kamen wir zurück und wurden nich enttäuscht. Der Flammkuchen war sehr lecker. Aber auch alle anderen Gerichte auf der Karte lasen sich sehr gut. Nur zu empfehlen!

Klasse Weinlounge mit der sensationellen Option, eine Sekt- (oder Champagner) flasche mit dem Säbel öffnen zu lassen. Ein tolles Erlebnis, das wir neben dem sehr guten Service sehr genossen haben.

Food is very fine and tasty from a German perspective. Service is polite and helpful and always present. Atmosphere is cosy and nice. Wine selection is a speciality.
