We went with a group of 8 and were seated and waited on promptly. We requested a private room and after some confusion we got the room. One thing that stood out was our server Miles. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He was friendly and professional. We will deuce back and hopefully Miles will be there.
Good pub food and great beer selection. This place hit the spot when we arrived late to Pittsburgh. Not much was open late at night but this place was and it hit the spot. We started with the Buffalo Chicken Dip and Pretzel Bites. Needed more dip but both were pretty good. Next up was the Smokey Wings. These were terrific. Had a couple bites of the fried chicken sandwich but it was just ok. The kung pao cauliflower has potential to be awesome but it needs more kick. The peanut butter snickers pie was awesome. The server was nice and place was clean and bright. Would come back for a game anytime.
This is my second visit to this restaurant, and I chose it again because of its great location, cool atmosphere, and appealing menu. Unfortunately, both times I found the food to be mediocre and not as described. The crab fondue was more like soup and lacked any crab. The sandwiches were average, and my daughter's fish tacos were extremely dry. The highlight of our experience was our server, though I wish I could remember his name. This place has a lot of potential, but it really needs some improvements in the kitchen.
Stopped in with my son while attending the motorcycle races near Pittsburgh. Cool downtown location with indoor/outdoor seating and a generous menu. We each had a couple beers with dinner and enjoyed ourselves. The waitstaff was very nice, and super prompt and friendly. The manager even provided us with complimentary pretzel knots when he learned we were there for the first time. Overall a very enjoyable evening, highly recommend it when you're in Pittsburgh.
I had never dined at City Works before and found the menu to be filled with tempting options. Everything our group ordered looked and tasted fantastic. The crab fondue was a bit on the heavy side with goat cheese for our liking, but it was still enjoyable. The Ahi tuna taco was absolutely delicious! The sauce complemented the tuna perfectly. However, the beers and ciders were not very cold, which was disappointing. This could have been related to the rather poor service. Despite asking multiple times, we never received appetizer plates, and it took several requests just to get water, with no refills offered. The restaurant was quite busy, but I've experienced much better service at places with larger crowds. I do like the restaurant's layout and ambiance, and I'm sure we will come back in the future.
