I stopped by for lunch by myself while doing some Christmas shopping. There were only 2 staff members working - one at the cash register and the other in the kitchen. Both seemed visibly stressed. Out of the 14 tables in the restaurant, 8 were occupied and the remaining 6 were dirty with leftover food from previous customers. I had to clean off a table myself in order to sit down. I was then served a cold and flavorless sausage sandwich. I don't blame the staff, as there should have been more employees on duty. Unfortunately, this will be my last visit to this restaurant. When I left 30 minutes later, none of the tables had been cleared.
We visited a café in Broughton on a bank holiday Monday for brunch. We had never been there before but wanted a change from the cafés at Tesco and M&S. The man serving us was rude and unhelpful. It was only 11am but there was hardly any food available and what was on display looked unappetizing. The selection of sandwiches and toasties looked limp and tasteless. The menu was disappointing with very few breakfast options and no cooked meals like beans on toast or scrambled eggs. My husband ordered a sausage roll and was disappointed with the lack of choices. I settled for a toasted teacake just to have something to eat. The staff were unfriendly and the café was practically empty, which didn't seem promising. When the food arrived, it was obvious that it had just been reheated. The sausage roll was squashed and unappetizing, with no spread or butter. It was a complete waste of money and we will not be returning.
Visited the cafe in Broughton with friends to have a meal. Cafe was not very busy but tables were not cleared of food waste from previous customers. I waited in the queue with 2 friends we were shocked to observe a male member of staff who was making drinks pick up the cups by the rims not by the handles. He was preparing toasted teacakes was also touching other non food items items, never attempted to wash his hands between orders. He was not wearing any PPE, apron, mask, or food preparation gloves. Obviously not observing the food hygiene regulations. More training required for your staff ASDA. Needless to say we did not stay, reported the issues to Asda staff member.
Never known such rudeness in my life. Upon attending yesterday a Saturday at 4 pm I asked if they had any hot food available as a quick snack. I was abruptly told there is no hot food. I asked if there was any sandwiches, again in the same abrupt manner I was advised just what you can see. With that we grabbed a drink and cakes and sat. As it was busy but there was a large number of tables waiting to be cleared I accepted that the cafe was somewhat messy. I was surprised to learn that it didn’t close until 6 pm. I was even more surprised when the same rude lady he told me that was never the food brought hot food out to the customers and then went to open the shutter wow that was a whole array of sandwiches available. I today called to speak to the cafe and find out who runs it and the gentleman at the cafe believe his name is the cafe when I asked for the head office number he has no idea what it is or where it’s located I realised there was no point in asking more of him, I think that was the best but he was capable of giving. I googled call the head office in Birmingham where the delightful person I spoke to him just wanted an argument with that I ended the call and sent them an email.
