The sandwiches were expensive and lacked filling, with dry bread that I couldn't eat. I requested a soup instead, which was tasty but came with only a small portion of baguette. My husband, who works in catering, was shocked by the high prices and low quality of the food. We ended up spending £20 on a lunch that we didn't enjoy and regretted going there. Despite the manager being apologetic, we were not offered a refund for the difference between the sandwich and soup. We have decided not to return to this restaurant.
My husband and I visited this restaurant on Sunday, November 15th, 2020. We were assisted by Dave, the restaurant manager, and what a difference he made! He has greatly improved the restaurant's overall operation, making it a much more pleasant place to visit. Dave was incredibly helpful and the food was excellent as well. Thank you, Dave!
Good menu, busy place with a good turnover of fresh food. Great selection of hot cold food, sweet , savoury drinks. Good size seating area, clean toilets although cold. Disabled access.
I visited the garden centre last month, as I do regularly. always pop in to the restaurant for either a meal or just cake coffee. The ladies work very hard, especially as sometimes you can see they are short staffed. Always polite helpful. I’ve got to say I’m shocked to see some of these bad reviews, some of them (the personal attacks on how the staff look) are really nasty uncalled for. I hope they’re looked into by management as my guessing its personal rather than having a bad experience at this restaurant. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone, would hope people can see through this poisonous persons personal attacks on staff.
This coffee shop within Daleside garden centre has a luxurious feel to it. Well presented with a good selection of cakes and scones, but let down by long queues at the till. This despite there being 3 people behind the counter and much of it being self service anyway. It was clean and comfortable inside. A bit pricey and towards mid afternoon food on offer was looking a bit sparse even though it was nowhere near closing time. Cakes were not covered in any way so their freshness might be in question. Children’s menu was good with some very healthy choices and novel ways of presenting them such as the sandwiches in a plant pot!
