We were on a day trip from Luzern. We took a boat from Luzern to Weggis, cable car up to Rigi, walk down to Klosterli and cog train to Arth Goldau. It was snowing on Rigi and raining in Arth Goldau. We decided to go to Fluelen and grab lunch. It was pouring rain when we arrived in Fluelen and used TA to locate some restaurant options. We decided on this restaurant where we encountered one of the most unusual and tasty dishes we have ever had. On the menu which was all in german was a house specialty named Falshi Schnaggi. We know and can speak some German but this was completely unrecognizable. We asked our waitress but she spoke no English and in what German we can speak we were unable to understand. She brought the chef over who spoke some English. He was able to explain it was beef but still no success. Finally he went back to the kitchen and brought out an escargot serving plate and we finally understood. Escargot but with beef not snails. We had to try it as I always loved the butter, garlic herb sauce of escargot but never was a fan of snails. It came piping hot in an escargot plate with toast points. The beef looked and tasted like tenderloin cubes that were first pan fried and then placed in each of the spots where the snails would be. It was delicious. We spoke with the chef afterwards and he explained that he just recently learned of the receipe and dish while at a training seminar and as far as he knew only a couple of other restaurants serve it. We will be back just for this dish. I also had sliced veal with a mushroom cream sauce and rosti. I fairly standard dish which was above average. The prices were reasonable and the restaurant makes a nice place for a casual lunch or dinner
