Elbow Room - FLUSHING

When i was young, i would go here for a “hot snowball” every winter day me and my brother got to play outside. those memories make me very fond of the place. the coffee is good and not too sweet, and the bakery is fantastic. my favorite pastry is the peach custard one. this is a amazing place to make memories. i plan on bringing my boyfriend of 2 years here one day Service: Dine in

The Elbow Room is the cutest little coffee house you could ever find! Just take a look at how beautiful this place is! The owner and staff are wonderful and truly lovely! It's vintage at its finest! Merry Christmas!

Within moments, we were confronted by a very rude man who worked there. He began to shout at us, saying, “Those are original 1800s glass pane windows, and they’re very fragile! They could shatter and injure your children!” along with other unpleasant remarks. We completely understood his concern, which is why we intervened and stopped the kids right away. However, he clearly hadn’t heard us and instead reacted with anger. It seemed like he was having a bad day, and I tried to dismiss his behavior, but when I mentioned the incident to a family member, they recounted a similar negative experience with him—getting yelled at for simply asking about the price of an item. I don’t know who this man is or why he has such a rude demeanor, but his behavior cast a shadow over our day. There were certainly better ways he could have handled the situation. To be honest, I’m now hesitant to return after this encounter, which saddens me given all the wonderful memories I have of this place. I really would prefer not to run into him again. If he doesn’t enjoy interacting with customers, perhaps a coffee shop isn’t the best fit for him.

I visited this place this morning and tried the everything bagel and apple Danish. They were both incredibly delicious! The lady who served us was lovely and sweet. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect 5!
