Ha Long Restaurant - Footscray

Stumbled on Ha Long while heading to our favourite Pho hangout in Hopkins Sreet. We were very pleased we decided to try it. Bright and modern decor and scrupulously clean, the restaurant would site 45 people comfortably with a mix of long and smaller tables. The Vietnamese/Chinese menu was extensive, almost too much I'd say yet they delivered lovely fresh Viet and Chinese dishes in good time.The meals were quite large and some options like the Vietnamese salads and coleslaw came with three size options to share between groups. The small size salad with rare beef and Lemon ($15) is easily shared between two. All meals were delicious and the produce fresh.On the strength of our first visit, we'll definitely be back to try more.

Steamed oysters with XO sauce Salted Fried riceChicken Coleslaw Bring the beer you bought at a nearby liquor store to this and have a banquet. This store is also on Victoria Street in Richmond.

Had a great banquet here with friends. You can make it easy and order from the "banquet" set and the owners are happy to swap items around to keep everyone happy. When the place gets crowded can be a bit noisy, so we tend to go a bit early, around 6.30 or 7pm (also clearway on streets until 6.30pm, easy parking after that).Many items on the menu to choose from if you're not taking the set banquets. Reasonable price and service too. Happy customer.

First went to this restaurant almost 18 years ago ... has never let us down. Devastated some years back when it closed for a period but great to know this has been reseablished in the same location and the renovations look great. Fantastic food, standard Footscray prices, welcoming staff and owner keep us going back

We were the only ones in the restaurant at 7 pm on a Wednesday night. The service was very good and we were well looked after. Food did come out in dribs and drabs. Food was excellent nice and fresh and hot. One little concern was the owners of the restaurant had their little child running around the place making quite some noise and it was annoying. This place did get very busy towards the end of our meal. If you want a good feed and nice and cheap well worth a try.
