Tempted by the warm frangipane on the blackboard. More cake-like than crumbly, but still tastes lovely. Not too sweet by British standard. Service is really friendly. Respects to the owner for saving this place. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view
The Kings hotel in Newmarket is centrally located and offers great value rooms compared to other hotels in the area. The attention to detail in this hotel is evident, with well-equipped rooms that exceed expectations for the price. Amenities such as a microwave, mini fridge, toaster, and even takeaway coffee cups are provided, along with complimentary bowls, milk, cups, and biscuits. Additionally, the free and speedy WiFi is a bonus. The hotel is well-maintained, with rubber mats in outside areas to reduce noise in the early morning and friendly service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area, with top ratings for rooms, service, and location. Key highlights include a quiet environment and great value.
The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere indoors and a lovely seating area outdoors. Service and location both receive a rating of 5.
We stayed for three nights to attend a big wedding in Cambridge. We didn't mind the wonky stairs. They just added character to a very old building. The staff were brilliant friendly and we slept like logs in a comfortable bed. We would stay again but it would be better if they kept the car park for guests only. Rooms: 3 Service: 5 Location: 5
