Wild Wood - Forest Heath

We visited here without making a booking and was immediately greeted by friendly staff who were pleased to find us a table. When ordering the food, the lady who served us made great recommendations, and when our food came, another member of the team asked if our meal was okay and could they improve anything (we had the new Christmas menu). After a great meal, we asked for the bill and the lady let us know service charge had been added but can be taken off with no issues, the service was so great, we were pleased to pay it.

When the staff outnumber the guests in the restaurant, you would expect excellent service. Instead, the staff seemed more interested in chatting among themselves at the back of the restaurant, far away from the customers. This included the female manager on duty, who left with two staff members. The cook had to tell the service staff to pay attention to the customers, showing their lack of interest in their patrons. One waitress, to her credit, was polite, friendly, and tried her best. However, her junior male manager just stood around chatting, like the other manager. The food was okay, but we only had starters and main course as we gave up on dessert due to the long wait.

Great tasting food and excellent service we had a beef burger and mushroom burger which was cooked to perfection on a grill and tasted fantastic great service and the staff were interactive and helpful, customer care was second to none a great experience and would highly recommend this restaurant

Main course was very small portion we both had Risotto tasted ok but wasn’t fantastic deserts was the best part very very nice we had the Tiramisu and my friend had lemon tart both delicious and nice size. Service was great very professional and polite food was served in a good time and was presented well.

We were celebrating mum-in-law’s move back to Newmarket, so the experience needed to be special. The team at Wildwood didn’t disappoint. The meal was excellent and the service was outstanding. Thanks especially to Laura who made us feel welcome, made us feel like family. We are a fussy bunch but couldn’t fault it. Thank you so much!
