I've subsequently been back to Papa Joe's many times The secret to getting a better pizza? Extra sauce.
My first visit here. Nice place. Offering a "All you can eat" BBQ BUFFET. On arrival I was told the buffet is not available for single diners. Even though many people were enjoying the offerings. WHEN; can only 2 or more in a party enjoy an ALL YOU CAN EAT BBQ BUFFET. Maybe something lost in translation. I ordered from the menu and was ignored for the next 10 minutes. When I inquired to the staff I was told that there is a buzzer on the corner of the table if you want to get staff attention. Maybe something else that was lost in translation. I was very impressed when my food arrived. Big portions and very tasty. Very reasonable prices and they sell cold beer.
Recently opened and spacious with attentive staff wishing to please diners, this venue is promising in its design and delivery of a wide range of Korean specialties. Dishes tried at our table included Chicken Bulgogi with a spicy, sweet hot flavour revealing some complexity of tastes on the palate. Presentation was on a sizzling platter and the dish was served with nicely cooked rice sprinkled with black sesame seeds. On an overcast day, soup was called for with Spicy Beef a thicker mix of clear noodles and spicy beef served with steamed rice. The other soup was clearer and thinner, served with rice noodles with more beef. Both were tasty and filling. Traditional Korean accompaniments included Kim Chee (fermented cabbage), pickled vegetables and a creamy salad that included apple and potato. Lunch specials were all $12 (a markdown from their usual prices) so worth a try if they interest. A licensed venue that also accepts BYO as only beer and a Chinese Plum wine are otherwise available apart from variations of tea (herbal mainly with an interesting option of cinnamon orange.
Went there for BBQ dinner when newly open, a bit expensive at $70 for two persons for the pork BBQ (the menu suggests for 3 - 4 persons, but I believe 3 - 4 adults would go home still feeling hungry by just having that). Pork was nice and fresh, delicious and enjoyable eating it hot just cooked, soup was tasty and hot, pickled side dish serves were very tiny, and no steamed rice came with the meal! NO complaint with the service though, the boss lady was very pleasant and friendly, staff were very polite.Today while checking out the menu on the window the boss lady came out greeting us with a BIG smile and suggested us to try their lunch buffet, she kindly invited us in to check out the buffet dishes before deciding. Dishes were nicely presented with a pretty good variety, so we decided to have a go. We were very disappointed to find the hot food served in the warmer was barely warm, the potato chips and wedges were dark and cold, so were the deep fried chicken wings, even the steamed rice kept in the rice cooker was at room temperature!! It was about midday not long after they open!! Only if the hot food was hot we would have been some happy customers!
