However, it appears that there has been a change in management and the quality of the food has significantly declined. The prices are still comparable to other reasonably priced restaurants, but the food just isn't up to par. I don't like giving a negative review, but unfortunately, I see no other option.
I made a reservation online for lunch for three on Sunday, booking on Monday. The staff was friendly and the service was good. However, we were disappointed to be seated at a table in the loud bar instead of the dining room. It would have been helpful to receive a confirmation email, as I would have cancelled the booking if I knew we would be in the bar. When I mentioned our expectations to our waitress, she suggested making a telephone booking for the dining room instead. The lamb was tough, but the vegetables were well cooked. However, the food was all piled onto the plate instead of being served separately, which was a departure from my past experiences in the dining room. It did not look very appetizing. The lack of ambiance and the noise level made us feel gloomy, so we left as soon as we finished our meal.
This charming little country pub in the heart of Alyburton is a bustling spot with a bar and restaurant. The atmosphere is lovely and the service was good initially. However, we did have to wait an hour for our food to arrive, which was a bit frustrating. The staff were friendly, but it seemed like they may have been a bit overwhelmed, especially with a live band playing. Overall, a pleasant experience, but could use some improvement in efficiency.
I have dined at The Cross several times in the past for family Sunday lunch and have always found the meals to be consistently good. However, it seems that there has been a change in management, as the food quality has significantly declined. The prices are comparable to other mid-range restaurants, but the food just doesn't measure up. It's unfortunate to leave a negative review, but in this case, I feel it's necessary.
I made a reservation online for three people on a Monday for lunch the following Sunday. The staff was friendly and the service was good. However, we were disappointed to be seated in the noisy bar area instead of the dining room. It would have been helpful if I had been informed in the confirmation email that we would be in the bar, as I would have cancelled the booking. When I mentioned this to our waitress, she suggested making a phone reservation to specify the dining room. The lamb was tough, but the vegetables were nicely cooked. Unfortunately, everything was piled onto the plate instead of being served in separate dishes like in the dining room. It did not look appetizing. The noise and lack of ambiance made us leave as soon as we finished our meal, so we did not have dessert.
