Maybe they needed something zitrus or something in the sauce? we also had wobble rings that were cooked with a thin tasty teig for perfection. the Ranch dimmer was not noticeable. the garlic waffelfries needed more garlic and more cheese and it would have been nice if the cheese melted a little, so not great. the Caesar salad was fresh with crisp greens, but the dressing was a little bland, would have been better with more lemon, less edgy and more garlic.
I love fish and chips and I try and find the best where ever I travel. I can only give the Pub 3 out of 5 I am sorry to say. My son had the same meal as I and he felt the same. The beer sampler was the best part of the meal. I would go back for just that. The fries served were mediocre frozen type. While plentiful they were darker brown and oily. The fish was cod which I love but the beer batter did not do the cod justice. The batter seemed thin with not much flavor. It was a darker brown and very oily as compared to the fries. To top it off there was a chicken bone embedded in the fish. The reason for the 3 rating was due to the beer sampler. Maybe it was just an off or bad day for the cook staff....
Loved the samplers, between three of us we were able to sample all of their beers! Also had chowder fries (what a great concept crispy Brussels sprouts, fish and shrimp and fries and a po boy. Delish. We ate outside in the tent next to a heater, indoor dining also available. Service was quick and friendly.
My husband and I had the 1/2 and 1/2 fish and chips, clam chowder, and chili. Everything tasted delicious and fresh! The batter on the fish was fantastic. The fries were crispy. Even the dipping sauces were better than most places. The chowder was my favorite thing out of everything we ordered and went really well with the side of bread our waitress recommended. Chili was full of chunks of beef and had a nice level of spice. Service was quick, helpful, and attentive. My husband is already talking about a return visit to try more of the menu!
Excellent food great beer and good service make this a place to visit again. Had the fish and chips was the best I’ve tasted in a while with their foggy day IPA both were very good would definitely recommend!
