Uptown's Chicken And Waffles Stryker Golf Course

Great spot to grab chicken and waffles with a side of live music after 7pm and good drinks Great customer service. Throughly enjoyed the live entertainment of @songbird_watkins company while we dined on chicken, boom boom shrimp, salmon bites, and loaded fries. The menu has a lot of southern comfort food staples to choose from. Go check this spot out for sure.

We arrived early in the afternoon on a Saturday and we were told there was a 45 minute wait. No biggie, I will wait for good food. We were going back to the car when we got the text saying that our table was ready...so really only like 3 minutes at most. The inside of the establishment is not all that great. Black walls and framed posters of artists. The music playing was a good mix of old school R&B. Our server came by and she was suer nice and attentive the entire visit. I already knew what I wanted and jumped right in for the peach mimosa, fried green tomatoes, and the Uptown sampler. Husband ordered the brunch platter. My mimosa came pretty quickly, and was tasty. Next the FGT's came and they were SO good, nice crunch and accented by a cajun remoulade. There was a bit of a long wait for our entrees, but all was forgotten as soon as I saw that plate! Included on the sampler is your choice of waffles, four pieces of fried chicken, and a petite portion of shrimp and grits. I chose classic for my waffle and had the maple pecan butter with them. Fluffy, warm, a little crispy...amazing. The chicken was hot, crunchy, juicy, flavorful and perfect. I wasn't even embarrassed that I was getting my fingers and face all chicken-y. The shrimp and grits were good, but not the star of this show, in my opinion. My Husband had the classic waffles as well, and enjoyed some strawberry butter on his, as well as scrambled eggs, fried potatoes and sausage. He enjoyed all his food but did mention that the coffee tasted like it may have sat on the burner for a while. I know exactly where I will be going when I want the best fried chicken ,and there are A LOT of other menu items I need to investigate!

We were greeted upon arrival and wait time to be seated wasn't long at all. Myeisha was our server, she was nice, personable and knowledgeable about the menu and the options we had questions about. She was really sweet, attentive and checked on us several times. Parris suggested the yams and they did not disappoint!! We also didn't have to wait long to receive our check. The DJ played some really good music and I danced in my chair several times. Let's get into the food! Everything was cooked with nothing but LOVE!! I don't know who's grandmother was in the kitchen cooking but I wanted to hug her! Our chicken was seasoned to perfection as so was everything else we ate. All of the temperatures were perfect as well! We orders two daiquiri's that weren't strong AT ALL (they literally tasted like non-alcoholic beverages), we even asked if they had shots in them and we were told yes. So that's what led to the 4 stars instead of 5. A skittle buzz would've been nice for a $15 drink especially since I wasn't driving. Overall, we will definitely return. Chef's KISS!!

Was in town visiting from Denver and was looking for some good southern food. Did not disappoint. Will definitely come back when I'm in town

Great food for a good price too. We ate here with our bridal party back on 4/21. We had a good time. Most definitely recommend going.
