Contribuisci feedbackI decided to give the new owners another chance. The sandwich I tried was good, but it doesn't quite measure up to the quality of the previous ones. My wife and I have been regulars at the Pickle Barrel for nearly 30 years, and I really wish the new owners could replicate what the former owners created. I still highly recommend it, but it's just not the same as it used to be. Food: 4/5.
This place is fantastic! The food is incredible, with many of the meats made in-house, such as corned beef and turkey. The sandwich combinations are delightful and bursting with flavor! I also love their house-made veggie burgers, salads, and soups. It's great to see a sandwich shop offering such a variety of options! The beer selection is thoughtfully curated, and the cocktails are both creative and delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive, and your food and drinks come out quickly. The new owners have done a wonderful job of cleaning up the establishment and restoring it to its former glory—I especially love that they displayed the old sign from the front in the bar area. Plus, it’s a perfect spot for watching sports! Be sure to check it out!
I dined here for the first time and it was fantastic. I really appreciated the interior layout, and the service was prompt with food delivered straight to my table. My sandwich, the "Tummy Pleaser," was amazing. I will definitely be returning! Food: 5/5
I was overall disappointed. I've given this place several tries with the hopes that they'll redeem themselves but I haven't seen much improvement. Pickle Barrel holds a special place in my heart. I really want to see it succeed. But the truth is, it's not even a remotely as delicious. The food is bland and the pickles... Well, I've never met a pickle I didn't like until now. What I don't understand is why change a good thing? I understand that the new owners want to put their own flare to things but this just isn't how you do that with an establishment as well known and popular as the Pickle Barrel. People go to Pickle Barrel expecting OG Pickle Barrel. Not something new, they want something familiar, they want their tried and true favorites. You just can't do a complete 180 in a restaurant that has been a staple in this community for decades. People have a certain expectation for the quality of food from Pickle Barrel. If this was a new restaurant, people are much more opened minded. You keep things the same and slowly introduce new ideas. Measure the customer's reaction to new ideas and base your changes off of that. Also, don't mess with the pickle game.I really do want to see the new ownership succeed. I also want my favorite sandwich shop back. I would be remiss if I didn't voice my opinion and judging by many other comments, I know I am not alone with this.I really do hope that the new owners will reconsider their menu changes. Don't change a good thing, just add to it. I'd hate to see Pickle Barrel close for good.
I’ve been waiting to review, hoping things would improve, and they have….a little. The pickles are still awful. And I wonder why you changed them? When people comment on that, the reply is that they weren’t made “in house” before. Well if no one likes them now, why are they made in house? Also, when someone states the sandwiches don’t taste the same, the response is that the previous owner approved of the changes. But why change at all? It’s what everyone loved. And the second owners kept the recipes the same as the first. Why couldn’t the third owners do the same? The first Funky after reopen was so disappointing. I can’t tell you how different it was. The second was better, but as someone else said, it was just an average sandwich. Not the perfect, delicious, flavorful, juicy sandwich it used to be that left my hands a mess. I miss that sandwich so much!
