To be honest, the service was great, but what me and my family personally did not like is that the prices were expensive, and the food did not come in a big portion, so three 20$ dishes were not enough to feed my family of three. Other than that, I really liked the vibe inside of the restaurant, and the staff, too.
Stopped at HAPPY Jack's for some take out my favorite Chinese restaurant in Canada and another reason was 25 dollars off from Facebook contest every Thursday . it was busy for take out but our food came out fast. Food was still hot when we got home from over the border and was delicious .we got two chicken fried rice one for me and one for my daughter same with lo mein and split chicken and broccoli and beef and broccoli. I had food for 3 days chicken in all the dishes was so tender and so was the beef. The broccoli was cooked well that got little softer on the drive home like I like it but not mushy. Great fried rice rice prefect not hard .the owners of Happy's are always friendly and shows .they appreciate us Americans for coming over for there food and we are loyal for coming back over and over till next time thanks for the great food
After a LONG wait (damn Covid) I finally made a trip up across the border. Canada, I've missed you! This visit was for dinner with friends at Happy Jack's. Let me start by saying, don't judge a book by it's cover. The outside certainly wouldn't draw you in so look past that and enter. We arrived fairly early and had to wait a while for our 4th companion to join us. No problem, we were seated and offered menus and drink. Our server checked on us periodically with no pressure to order. The food. There was your normal variety of Chinese dishes along with some specials, combinations. and meals for two to five people. We all ordered different items. Everything from chow mein, sweet sour chicken, and mine which was Kung pao stir fried chicken and hot and sour soup. The soup alone could have been a meal. It was flavorful, chuck full of ingredient with the right amount of spicy kick. now the Kung Pao chicken, that was really good. It was loaded with large pieces of fresh crisp vegetables, no digging around for those tiny square carrots you sometimes get. The chicken was nice and tender. My only slight complain was that I asked for the dish to be spicy and even though it had several red hot peppers it lacked a bit on the heat. Not enough for an issue to effect my rating. Everyone else also seemed to really enjoy their food. Now for the service. It was excellent. From they very start when they asked us if we'd like separate checks (much appreciated), to the ordering process , and delivery of the food. All was handled well. Added bonus, everyone was super friendly Even joking around with us through the meal. All without being intrusive. I'll definitely be back. 2022-34
A very much anticipated visit but a big letdown! The restaurant is exactly as remembered with an awesome river view patio. Staff is very friendly and efficient. The food was okay but could have been warmer. The plates were hot but the food wasn't. Fried items were not very crispy and sesame chicken and general Tao's tasted very much the same. My only favorite part was the Happy Jack egg foo young, served hot and flavorful! The pad Thai noodles were overcooked and stuck together, lo mein was okay.
