Yamagata Japanese Resturant - Fort Lee

What a delightful surprise! The sushi was excellent and reasonably priced. I would definitely return to sample their omakase. It's advisable to make a reservation to secure a table, as my friend called two days in advance, and while we were dining, we saw a couple being turned away due to the restaurant being fully booked. This clearly reflects the restaurant's popularity!

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the spicy scallop rolls and a la carte sushi are delicious. I can't wait to return to try the Omakase menu!

This is a decent sushi restaurant for being in Fort Lee. While it's not the finest omakase experience, the fish is quite fresh. The sushi rice is also pretty good. Prices are comparable to some omakase places in NYC, but if you want to avoid the tolls, this is a solid option for sushi!

To add to the experience, we were treated to free soup for everyone at the table, along with a lovely warm soybean appetizer. While waiting for our orders, the kids and I had fun playing a peanut-picking contest with chopsticks. The complimentary ice cream ball at the end was a delightful surprise! The red bean and green tea flavors were simply the best. The sweet-salty red bean ice cream and the refreshing bitterness of the matcha ice cream were perfectly portioned, leaving me with a big smile as I received the check. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience!

The food was incredible, and the service was excellent. The sea urchins with raw quail egg were creamy and absolutely delicious.
