Courage Inn Dfac - Fort Lewis

It is as good as it gets for a dining facility. The place is kept very clean and the food tastes good. Variety of options switched daily. The atmosphere feels a little cold and sterile, but that ensures quick turnarounds.

Probably one of the better dfacs I've been to. Fruit is a little lacking and the salad bar smaller than most, but the food in the regular line is flavorful and not rubbery or unseasoned

It's probably the most up to date defac on base. The food is generally better than Ghost dfac. I just wish they could show when it's open from outside instead of at the register

Lines here are too long. Sometimes they will have a secondary but you won’t be told if so. Extremely inconsistent with everything. If you are going to have a product for that day then make enough for the whole duration. Don’t start with one thing then replace it with another once it runs out. why are you cooking a completely different meal anyway? If that days breakfast includes bacon then when it runs out replace it with another batch of bacon, not dry chicken patties. One day the potatoes will be absolute perfection, the next undercooked. They have multiple choices of bread but no toaster. If you are there just 45 minutes after opening good luck getting a fork. They need to tell reception to send half their people to Ghost and half to courage DFACs so the lines won’t be so congested. It would be nice if they paired the main entree with the sides better. If you have baked chicken then have mashed potatoes and asparagus. If you have bananas then have strawberries so we can mix it with the yogurt. We don’t need 5 different types of melons at a time. If they would adjust the breakfast and lunch times by just a half hour prior (like Korea) I think that would make a huge difference. This way the dfac is already open by the time people get off of PT and a huge line hasn’t already formed outside. O yeah and no one wants peas for breakfast. I don’t know what that’s about.

Food is normally good, but the lines are trash, there are times when you have to wait more then 30 mins, to get mainline items. This is all due to inprocessing soldiers, the days/meals that they are not there this dfac is great, but when you have to wait that long it sucks.
