Our first visit to Bruno's of Brooklyn was fantastic, the food was absolutely delicious. The service was slow but that's because the restaurant what's so busy. Our second visit to the restaurant was one of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant in many years. The ciabatta bread served was so hard, you could barely bite into it. All four of us ordered the penne alla vodka with chicken. When the dishes came out after about 35 minutes, and we bit into our meals, the chicken was cold in the center. This was a clear indication that the chicken had not been prepared for the individual meals and instead, had either been left sitting on the counter or prepared ahead of time perhaps that morning or even days before. The taste of the sauce was fantastic but it did not mask the texture or temperature of the chicken. Having worked in the restaurant industry, Chicken must temp before it is served, as serving chicken under temp is not only dangerous for your patrons, but a health code violation. The resolution offered was to microwave the food to bring it up to temperature. No applogy, changes or comps were made.
Quite a unique experience. Sat at the counter to get the real feel of what goes into a night of serving guests. Cam was amazing. Telling all my friends.
Great atmosphere, wait staff and chef were extremely personable. Made us feel welcome and they really want you to come back. Loved it!
We chose Brunos of Brooklyn for our anniversary dinner. Food and service was excellent. We had made a reservation as their seating is limited. We are originally from the Philadelphia area and Brunos made us feel at home. We would highly recommend them if you are in town.
Was fortunate to sit at the bar and watch the owner work his Italian magic on numerous dishes. His wife was our server and if heaven was a couple made to serve savory legit Italian food then Saint Christopher thank you my sins must have been forgiven. The meatballs get the app. Save some bread. Perfect. Ask them what they recommend and you will Babe Ruth your meal as a sure fire home run.
