Haneys Café - Fort Myers

Outstanding food, exceptional service, and very reasonably priced.

The Haneys Café is a delightful restaurant. It’s exceptionally clean, the service is attentive, and the food is quite tasty. I tried the cookies, gravy, eggs, and hash browns, all of which were served hot and bursting with flavor. I’ll definitely be returning. On my next visit, I ordered the same dish, and once again, the food was hot, delicious, generous in portion, and offered at a great price. This place is undoubtedly a hidden gem in Ft. Myers. On the morning of November 14, 2022, I witnessed this café prepare over 1,000 meals for the local Red Cross. How impressive and generous!

When we brought this to the server's attention, the manager came over and insisted that the order was correct. Given how frequently we dine there, we know what we ordered, and it definitely wasn't what was served. The manager continued to argue and became quite disrespectful. I insisted that she should return it and prepare the dish as we requested. When she returned with the revised order, she informed us that it was served on separate plates so we could assemble the Scramble ourselves and see if it matched what we ordered. To our surprise, she insisted on standing at our table while we ate, which we found intrusive and rude. We asked her to leave us alone, but she refused. At that point, I suggested she might benefit from some customer service training. This prompted the server to intervene and discreetly advise the manager on the situation. In a sudden turn, the manager took all the food off our table and told us to leave. As someone who actively supports local businesses in San Carlos Park, it pains me to say that I will not return to what used to be my favorite breakfast restaurant.

I've been to this restaurant around six times over the past few years. Although I don't go often, it's a lovely spot for breakfast. We've enjoyed several meals on the terrace with our dogs, and it's great that they're pet-friendly. The staff has always been polite and welcoming. The food is reliable, and any complaints we've had have been minor. Overall, it's a fantastic place for breakfast, and we'll definitely return.

I've had the best lunch for a long time. We had the Cobb Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing and the Cranberry Chicken Salad with a Raspberry Vinaigrette. It was so fresh and a generous portion. Excellent and full!
