As for the baked beans, they included beans, sausage, onions, and green peppers. Unfortunately, they didn’t work for me. They attempted to add some spice but missed the mark, coming off more sour than anything else. The texture was decent, but whoever came up with the recipe might have had a bit too much corn mash; perhaps that might have actually improved the dish a bit. Now, onto the beef brisket. While it was tender and did taste like brisket, it didn’t have that classic BBQ flair—no smokiness whatsoever. It seemed to be cooked in the oven without any flavor-enhancing techniques. The two BBQ sauces I received were fine for the average Floridian, but for a true BBQ lover from Texas or elsewhere, they were pretty lackluster. There was no boldness or real spice, just a hint of sweetness that made the overall taste quite unappealing. Plus, great BBQ brisket should taste fantastic even cold the next day, but this one doesn’t qualify. On a positive note, the staff were fantastic. They engaged with me while I waited for a meal that I’m likely to forget soon.
