Contribuisci feedbackA Korean bakery located in Ala Moana.I was curious about the $1.85 price per cute cookie, so I tried to pack it in a gift box to take as a souvenir, but since I visited on a Sunday evening, it was sold out and there were only a few types of cookies, so I gave up on purchasing. You can purchase a pack of 7 cookies for $14.95, so it seems like a good option for people looking for sweets souvenirs other than the classic cookie brands.
Nice bakery with coffee! I ordered a cup of Korean latte and I liked it. It tasted like a Korean mix coffee stick. I like that taste so I enjoyed it. They also have seats and savory breads so I want to try their breads next time! It looked really delicious : ??
This place is super cute! There is a nice seating area and they offer a variety of pastries from savory to sweet. I tried a number of items and I really enjoyed the pizza toast. It was hefty and surprisingly there were a lot of toppings under the cheese and pepperoni (green bell peppers and onions). The bread was soft was fluffy even after heating it up in my toaster oven. The other items were just ok. The garlic cream cheese bacon looked so delicious but it turned out to be super sweet and I could t eat it! I expected it to be savory, but since this is a Korean bakery the flavor profiles tend to go sweet. The egg toast was good but the egg was hard. I wish they offer to warm up your pastries upon paying as all of them were cold. They also stuffed all my pastries into one small paper bag and some got smashed. The location is on the back of Ala Moana street level near Starbucks and Marshall's.
Who would've thought Surfers Bakery is a Korean bakery? The name does not really go hand in hand, but we can now associate Surfers Bakery as a solid Korean bakery. This place is located in Ala Moana Shopping Center on the ground floor, near the US Post Office, Starbucks, and Spectrum. It's very clean, organized, and spacious. There's a wide variety of baked goods, pastries, sandwiches, cookies, Korean doughnuts, coffee, tea, shakes, and a Korean style musubi (spam, bread with filling, wrapped in nori). With so many choices, there's just one item that says it all: Honey Butter Toast. This was so rich and buttery with just the right amount of sweetness to balance out. The bread was thick cut, soft, and fluffy. It was definitely filling! The Coffee Bun was good. The mocha cream cheese filling had decent coffee flavor, and the bun was soft and fluffy. Nothing extraordinary, but good.Overall, Surfers Bakery gets their bread right, and if that's right, everything else should be right as well. There's so much variety between sweet and savory that it's hard to choose! The Honey Butter Toast is a winner, and I was told the Milk Bread was as well, but that was all sold out. Wish it had more coffee/hot drink options though as a majority is cold/iced drinks. But I'll definitely be back to try more items!
During my trip, I visited because it was my daughter 's birthday, and I really wanted to say that I am so grateful for the kindness and consideration shown to me. It 's not something I take for granted, but it was a thankful time because I was able to feel the so-called Korean affection. It may have been lonely and difficult at times in a foreign country, but the smiles and kindness you gave me will be remembered for a long time every time my daughter celebrates her birthday. Thank you again.
