Conveniently attached to the Pelican Inn, it was easy to check into the hotel, drop our stuff off, and sit down for a nice meal. We were...a little confused that the liquor was only to be served in a separate room (not the main dining room). I had the steak sandwich and it was really good. Some of the girls had the war wonton soup and they said it was fantastic with fresh ingredients.
This chinese food is about the worst you can get. The ribs all have this red sweet and sour sauce on, there is so much red food colouring my fingers were red for three days. The meat , whether it is port, or beef is...dry and tough. The singapore noodles, is allthry have on it with coupe pieces of vegetables. It is not cheap for the quality you get. Go to Berros instead. I tried this restaurant twice to give it a fair chance. No improvement
The Chinese food was hot delicious. The customer service was friendly. The delivery was right on time.
The restaurant food quality is extremely unpredictable. For example, One day the rice can be over cooked and mushy and the next visit it’s cooked Perfectly and super tasty. The staff are friendly but cater to the “regulars” over the other customers. The wonton soup...is delicious! The western part of the menu is nothing spectacular... the beef dip is pretty Good, the burgers are meh, and the clubhouse is made with turkey sandwich meat.
With Anna's Home Cooking closed for renovations, and having eaten at Berro's pizza the night before, we ended up here by process of elimination. Maybe it's unfair to rate a Chinese restaurant based on its lasagna, but they do advertise Chinese and Western Cuisine The...restaurant is basically a bare room with a collection of tables. Decor and ambiance are completely missing. Neither my wife nor I enjoy Chinese food, so we ordered the lasagna from their Western menu. It was probably noodles, cheese, and at most meat, sauce and vegetable filling. The garlic bread was a slice of white bread, very lightly toasted, with the tiniest bit of garlic. All in all, completely disappointing. Unfortunately, the service matched the quality of the food. After delivering our meal, the waitress ignored us completely. She did not come back for the customary check to see if we were happy with our meals, nor to refill our water, nor to clear the dishes and offer dessert or coffee, nor to bring our bill. She was too busy chatting at another table. Finally, she popped up to collect our money when we walked to the cash.
