Unfortunately, the food quality left much to be desired. The bangers and mash were subpar, and the fish and chips were just average. The burgers were decent, but the appetizers were also disappointing. We were really looking forward to enjoying an Irish meal, but we ended up being extremely disappointed. Overall, we found the prices to be too high for the low quality of food served.
We will be returning to Fort Wayne, but we won’t be coming back to this bar. We stopped in for a quick beer, and the bartender, Madelyn, rolled her eyes at us when we inquired about food service. It was a holiday weekend and after 9 PM, so we would have understood if the kitchen was closing. We placed our order quickly—one appetizer and two beers—but when the food arrived, she simply slid the plate towards me without stopping, then walked to the other end of the bar. After that, we were completely ignored while she chatted with every other patron. She finally approached us only when I took out my card to pay and asked if I wanted another beer. We requested our check, paid, and left. I usually give people the benefit of the doubt, but it was clear we weren’t welcome at this bar, and the pretzels weren’t enjoyable enough to endure that treatment again.
You don 't need to be Irish to have a good time although you may feel Irish when you leave. Scotch egg shepherd 's pie a varied menu well done and well served. Now if you want fast food, maybe not because the service is personal, which means thestaff person cannot be everywhere at once, and the food is fresh and well prepared. Ambiance is friendly, seating inside and ingood weather out a great place.
This is a charming little pub perfect for enjoying a couple of drinks in a low-key atmosphere. I really appreciated the space, and the pool tables are in great condition. They offer a nice variety of drinks, and the bartenders are fantastic. I deducted a star because the ambiance felt a bit cold, and on a Friday night, it was surprisingly quiet. I believe this is a nice spot for solo visits or hanging out with a friend, but I wouldn't suggest it for a date or a larger group outing.
You don't have to be Irish to enjoy yourself here, though you might feel a bit out of place if you're not. The Scotch egg and the brain pie are highlights on a diverse menu that is well-crafted and thoughtfully served. If you're looking for a quick meal, this might not be the best choice, as the service is personal and attentive, which means the staff can't be everywhere at once. However, the food is fresh and well-prepared. The atmosphere is friendly, and whether you sit inside or outside on a nice day, you’ll find it to be a lovely spot.
